Our New Adventure with Life180

This is a copy of our letter that we have sent out that highlights the ministry we will be doing with Life180 Church.

Dear Friends and Family,

We wanted to take this opportunity to share the exciting ways that we have seen God at work in our lives in the last few weeks and months. This summer we will be moving to Arizona where I will be the Executive Pastor of Life 180 Church in Phoenix. After a year of searching, praying, and trusting we have watched God move in our hearts to bring us to take this step of faith.

You might ask yourself, why start a new church? Aren’t there plenty of great churches out there already? Every year 3,700 churches in America close their doors for good, because our friends and neighbors increasingly view the Church and God as irrelevant to their lives. But could there possibly be anything more relevant than the message that God loves us, saves us, and wants to be forever involved in our lives?

The purpose of LIFE180 Church is simple: to transform lives and impact our community. Our vision is to lead every person in our community into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We will be a church where people who are far from God can know and experience the love of God. We will be a church that actively seeks to bless our community by finding ways to meet people’s physical, tangible needs. We will be a church that lives out the unconditional love of Christ. We will be a church that embraces Jesus’ commission to GO and make disciples.

But why start a Church in Phoenix? Why not Minneapolis? Why not St. Paul? Phoenix is unique in the fact that 85% of people do not attend any kind of church. Specifically, we are going to be planting in a new and growing suburb of Phoenix that has 2,500 homes and no established churches.

As I look back on the experiences, education, and opportunities that I have had so far in my life I can see how God has been preparing me for this role.

One of the unique challenges of launching this new ministry is that I have agreed to raise support to fund my salary for the first three years. Our goal is to raise $5,000 per month, which will cover living expenses as well as health insurance for our family. I would like to ask you if you will financially support Erica and me as we follow the steps God has laid out for us.

I am asking you to prayerfully consider how God may be leading you to support the work he is doing and will continue to do through LIFE180. This is a huge step of faith for us, but we know that nothing is impossible with God. Know that when you give, you are not just investing in our family, but you are investing in thousands of lives that will be transformed for generations to come, and for the rest of eternity.
