I’d Like To Thank . . .
My friend, Jenny, recently nominated me for an award on her blog. How very exciting?! What am I going to wear?! Oh, that’s right there is no red carpet or fancy award ceremony so I guess I will stay in my pajamas. Sigh.
Here are the rules:
Thank and link to award presenter.
Give 7 random facts about yourself.
Give award to 5 deserving bloggers.
Let them know!
I would like to start by thanking God for allowing me to take a typing class in High School so that I could win this award.
Oops, got off track again.
I would like to thank Jenny for this award. She blogs over at The “Wright” Side. The sad thing is that although Jenny and her husband were in our small group for quite a long time before we moved, I feel like Jenny and I started to connect and become closer friends in the months before we left. Not fair.
A fun fact about the Wrights is that Micah and Jenny’s daughter, Anna, have become pen pals since we moved. Anna is four, so neither one of them are writing heart felt letters yet, but a couple of times a month they send each other pictures and crafts they have made. Micah asks me almost every day if there will be a picture from Anna in the mail. I have been saving them all. You know, just in case they get married some day. (Yes, apparently I have become that obnoxious mother who talks about her toddler marrying another toddler someday. Micah is lucky that our cultural tradition does not include arranged marriages.) If you head on over to Jenny’s blog you can see what a cutie Anna is.
Seven random facts about myself:
- I wanted to be a killer whale trainer at Sea World when I grew up from 6th grade all the way to my freshman year in college. It is why I joined the swim team in high school. Gots to be a good swimmer to keep up with those whales. Sometimes I still think it would have been fun.

Now for my nominations . . . drum roll please!!
These are all people that I know in real life, and blogs that I enjoy reading.
1. The first is written by my friend, Beth. She blogs over at Whoopsie Daisy about her family, and all the amazing domestic things she does. She bakes amazing cakes, and has started sewing really cute kids’ clothing. She is having her second baby soon, and I am very sad that I moved before that happened.
2. Bambina Babe is written by my friend, Nealy. She is very creative. She seems to do it all, but I know that she would say she doesn’t. She doesn’t blog as much as she used to, but if you go to her site you can find her photography site. That and her two daughters are keeping her two busy to blog very often. Looking for a great recipe? Her blog is a great place to start.
3. Misty writes at A Mom’s Journey Back to Me. I am inspired by her journey to make her health a priority. She just ran her first half marathon!
4. The next blog is written by someone that I knew in High School. Her younger sister is my age, and since I was an honorary member of their family we spent a lot of time together. Her and her husband blog about their difficult journey back from adultery. I find their posts so helpful in how to keep a marriage safe and strong. Check them out at Marriage Life Ministries.
5. Last but not least is . . . not someone I know in real life. I found Melanie’s blog through Angie Smith’s blog, Bring the Rain. If you haven’t read Angie’s story of losing her newborn daughter and her journey of faith through that experience, I highly recommend it. Melanie’s blog is called Big Mama. I have never met her and she lives in Texas, but I look forward to her blog every morning. She writes with wit and humor about daily life as a mom. She is my morning entertainment.
So there you have it. Some of my favorite blogs. Remember ~ it is just an honor to be nominated.
